| Ride out to Glencoe. It's a long run, of 330+ miles, so an early start at 8:30 from Kingwells P&R. There will be a brief stop in the main carpark at Alford should anyone want to join the run there. Rough Route: Kingwells (8:30am) - Alford (9:00am) - Lecht – Aviemore – Spean Bridge – Fort William – Ballachulish – Crainlarich – Lochearnhead - Perth – A90 North. All good roads with no single tracks. Plenty rest breaks and a lunch stop along the way. Please check the forum for any updates. The usual rules, full tank/empty bladder apply. _________________ Ali

Sounds good Ali. Won't know 'til later, if I can manage a "half" run. I'd turn back at Aviemore.

At the moment count me in, will join at ALFORD. No less distance but my tyres were wearing a groove in the P&R tarmac. Perhaps if Cecil is going he could put himself up to lead a slower /shorter group?

Dan. Don't know if I'll manage on Sunday. If I AM there it will be for a short run, turning back about Grantown or Aviemore. Grandson will be at a Boys' Brigade camp at Crathie and I want to be there for him on Sunday afternoon.

Have received a message this morning from an informed scourse that there is a camera van regulary parked in the 40 limit at the Glencoe Hotel. Will this affect us? Dan.

Just back from Ireland and I'll be there at the P&R at 0830 - the weather disnae look too smart so we may modify the route. No idea of numbers so just turn up if you fancy a run. The camera in Glencoe village will not cause a problem as we will stick to posted speed limits. Ian.

Welcome back Ian. I was looking at the nice forecast which suggested that the rain would appear after 3PM, from the west. So it might be 2PM at Glencoe. Probably be a lovely sunny day.

No - It rained - heavily! At 0830 there were six of us at the P&R and it's pissing down, at least I had an excuse for being there, the other five didn't. Another four at Alford tho' Cliff's brand new guaranteed waterproof jacket failed miserably (Fra*k Thom*s) and he was forced to pack it in. Stop in Tomintoul (raining) and route plan changed so down to Laggan Village, across to Dalwhinnie, Pitlochry for lunch (showery), Glenshee, Braemar (sunny) for afternoon tea/pipeband and home for 1630. If the weather was bad, the company certainly was not - there are worse things to do on rainy Sundays!

One thing I ommitted to mention - welcome back John Alexander after his sebatical from motorcycling and undergoing torture at the IOM TT with no wheels. Apparently he never got above 3rd gear on the run today on his brand new Yamaha FJR but that's probably because he was too used to his previous FJR which had an auto box!
