A big thankyou to everyone who made the weekend a success. Especially to Cecil for organising it and to Don and Amanda for leading the run on Saturday across the moors to Culloden. The weather wasn't bad either, who organised that?? Sorry you were all still asleep when I departed so didn't get to say cheerio. However I'll be at the P&R Wednesday to take your names and money for the 10 pin bowling night. Keep the Rubber on the Road. Dan

Can I echo Dan's thoughts and say a big thank you to Cecil for organising the accomodation and the weather. I want him to organise all my holidays now !! Thanks also to Mike for leading up on Friday through some interesting wee roads after Arbroath. I enjoyed the company of Dave, Kath and Ali B on Saturday on what was to have been a meander around the roads to the south west. It turned out to be a blast through gorgeous scenery ( the castle we stopped to photogragh was Castle Stalker off Port Appin ) and apart from refreshment breaks the wheels kept right on turning. On checking this morning tuns out we did 300 miles !! Good to join with John B, Kath and Steve for return today. Was hoping that John A would catch us up but I guess he's still running in that R1 ! Thanks to everyone else who contributed to another successful GMC event. AK

We would like to add our thanks to Cecil and the other run leaders for another memorable weekend away. Enjoyable runs, enjoyable food (when it finally came ) and enjoyable company, what more could you ask for? Thanks to Mike for leading the run home today and thanks to the first aiders especially Doctor Don with his magic unction who tended to my needs when I was stung on the face by a bloody wasp that got into my helmet at Granton. The Grouse Inn at Cabrach never fails to amaze us with its immediate endless supply of tea, scones and jam whatever time of day you appear, three cheers for The Grouse Inn Hope to see you all again on the last of the years runs before the weather sets in for Winter. Bob and Maggie

| Yet another grateful member and his family. We had a lovely weekend - Wendy thought the hotel was great and probably one of the best family hotels she's stayed in. Great to see everyone over the weekend. Thanks to those who joined the Skye run with me - it was so worth the effort. Sorry to have missed most of you this morning - we don't often get a chance for a lie in what with Jake and the dogs so took the opportunity to have a late breakfast followed by a lovely hour or so in the pool. Look forward to seeing some of you on Weds and over the October runs. Take care Phil, Wendy and Jake PS - Cecil - I forgot to tell you the mileage. I reckon it was about 260 miles. Here's a link to the exact route we ended up doing - Skye RunI decided not to go up the east side of Loch Ness after Fort Augustus. By the time we left Aviemore it was nigh on 10 o'clock so I think it was about 8 hours all told - that includes the ferry crossing - longish lunch on Skye - petrol stop at Kyle of Lochalsh - coffee stop in Fort Augustus (they opened the bridge just after we crossed it!) - and petrol stop in Newtonmore. _________________ NON ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM

Not much more we can add that hasn't already been said but a big "Thank You" from us both for the organising of the hotel , runs and company without which it would have been just another weekend. We stayed the extra night so that I got a rest off the bike but the downside was it rained the whole way home on the Monday !

I wondered why your bike was in the car park when I left. If it's any consolation it wasn't that good on the way home Sunday so the extra night was a good idea. We tried to go west again to do something together but it was so dreek we came back for the bike and went home via Tomintoul - when it started to clear up again. _________________ NON ILLEGITIMUS CARBORUNDUM

We had a great weekend and would also like to show our appreciation to Cecil for organising this event. We all loved the hotel which is a first class family venue. The trip to Skye on Saturday was especially memorable with good company; good roads and it didn’t even rain! With new tyres fitted on Monday I am looking forward to a couple more weekend runs before my move across the pond at the end of October. Regards Stuart, Veronika Sofia and Alex
